I have 30 years experience helping children, adolescents, adults and families solve behavioral health problems. My style is warm, respectful and spirited. I draw from a variety of approaches including: cognitive behavioral therapy, child-parent play therapy, mindfulness-based therapy, trauma-focused therapy and therapeutic storytelling.

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology, I am skilled in helping clients with problems such as anxiety, depression, special needs, difficulty regulating emotions, relationship/interpersonal issues, bullying, divorce, loss, grief and trauma.   Through consultation I provide parents and caretakers with strategies that assist children of all ages in developing the social and emotional skills they need to live as happy lives as possible.

I am the author of Empowering Children to Help Stop Bullying at School and a contributing author of Early Childhood Adventures in Peacemaking.

My practice is located in Arlington and Belmont, MA. I love the work I do and look forward to meeting and helping you.

“Carol is a real pleasure to work with. Our family was facing a challenging time with our son. To say that we were desperate when we first met with Carol would not be an exaggeration. Carol gave us the tools we needed to solve our problems together. We are truly in a MUCH happier place than we were just 6 short months ago. I would recommend Carol to anyone seeking more peace and happiness in their family.” parent of an 8 year old

“Carol has been instrumental in our 17 year old son’s recovery from an episode of Major Depressive Disorder. Not only did Carol help diagnose our son but assisted him finding his way back to health. He is now on his way to full recovery, and his/our hopes and expectations for his future are restored. We give our highest recommendation to Carol Wintle as the parents of one of her clients.”  parent of an adolescent
